Carlos Pilonieta (Bogota, Colombia) after receiving a B.A. degree in Industrial Design with Excellence Thesis project award from Universidad Jorge Tadeo Lozano (UJTL) in 2003, Carlos moved to Bucaramanga, Colombia where he worked in a creative group as a designer. He provided professional consulting services in the areas of interior design, furniture design and point of purchase. He created multiple innovative spaces for food, entertainment and private homes.

In 2006 Carlos moved to Washington DC where he worked as a drafter and junior interior designer for Rust Orling Architecture. He created renderings and office layouts for building companies. Parallel to this activity, Carlos began to work with outside clients providing industrial design services. Some of his clients include Boston Dynamics (robotic Company own by Google), and David Edward (furniture company).

Beginning in 2010 and continuing to the present, Carlos has been working with RVB+A, a Railway Consultancy, as a train designer. In this position he has developed cutting edge designs and solutions for clients like New York City Transit (NYCT), Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA), Port Authority Transit Corporation (PATCO), MTA Alstom, CNR, CRRC, Sumitomo and others.

Carlos’ priority in his design is to design products that have a positive impact on the planet combining the technologies of the future with the experience. Carlos is passionate about understanding human behavior, ergonomics, and finding new ways to use design to increase the quality of life for the final users. Carlos is a collaborative, creative and strategic designer. He designs to generate emotions based on research and detailed executions.
